Spearwood

Spearwood (Kunzea glabrescens)

Spearwood is a large shrub which grows up to 5 m tall.  It is found on the coastal plain, especially south of the Swan River. The common name refers to its spear-like stems arising from near its base.  Creamy yellow flowers occur in spring.  Where Spearwood grows, orchids are often found.
