Welcome to Honkey Nuts.

Honkey Nuts displays images and information about native trees and shrubs in the Perth region of Western Australia.

The site aims to help you recognise and appreciate these flora, which in many cases, are unique to this part of the planet.

Go to the Tree Gallery and click on the name of a tree. Click on the featured image of that tree, and then scroll down to read a description and view more images. Click on an image to enlarge it.

Over time, more species, photographs and information will be added.

Introduced species, commonly planted in the metropolitan area, are not included. Rather, the site features trees that you will find in remnant bushland, in our National Parks and along the Bibbulmun Track.

The site is named after the fruit of the Marri, known colloquially as “honkey nuts”.
